Wattle Grove Cottage is a charming self-contained holiday accommodation located 3km from the main homestead, offering a unique blend of history and modern comfort. The two-bedroom retreat offers a fully-equiped kitchen, dining, lounge and laundry. Originally the MacGillivray School, Wattle Grove Cottage showcases the island’s rich past, having played a significant role in the local community.

The Property

Stranraer Kangaroo Island spans 1,290 hectares of working farmland, producing prime lamb, wool, and grain. The property features two large, bird-filled lagoons surrounded by stunning scenery, abundant wildlife, and peaceful natural landscapes.

This is a 1920s homestead on a sheep station lived in by three generations of the Wheaton family. The current owners, Graham and Lyn are delightful and wonderful hosts. Lyn is a superb cook and Graham will take you out on night rides to look for wildlife. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable with all possible details attended to. We had a wonderful time.
